Bhaskar Viswanathan, Professor & Head of the Radiation Oncology Department at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, did his schooling at Frank Anthony Public School and college at National College in Bengaluru. Later, his MD training was at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology in 1997. He did a one-year clinical research project at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai in 1998. subsequently, he joined Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology in 1999 as an Assistant Professor and remained in service till 2006(8 years). In addition to clinical work, he did short academic courses in genetic engineering and human molecular genetics at the Indian Institute of Science and research lab training at IVRI Bengaluru. He later enrolled in a 1-year Clinical Fellowship programme at Jurivinski Cancer Centre, Hamilton, Canada. After this, in 2008, he was employed at Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Bengaluru as Associate Professor in Radiation Oncology till 2012, subsequently promoted to Professor, and worked till 2022(14 years). He also had an orientation programme on hyperthermia techniques in breast and cervical cancers at Erasmus MC Netherlands in 2017.
