Infectious Diseases

The department is committed to combating infectious diseases by providing comprehensive care for diagnosis and management of infections and diseases related to bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites, including all emerging and re-emerging infections, and focusing on infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship to develop strategies to reduce the risk of infection during hospitalization, and after surgical procedures. In addition, we focus on optimal use of antimicrobials, which reduces the chance of developing drug resistance. We are committed to providing prophylaxis, pre-emptive therapy, surveillance and vaccination related advice, as well as to provide pre-transplant assessment of infection risk and to discuss prevention strategies.
