
The Community Medicine Department, Amrita Hospital, Kochi, in collaboration with the Thrikkakara Pulari Residents Association, has launched a community-driven initiative to combat dengue fever. The program aims to ensure active public participation in preventing the spread of the disease and safeguarding community health.
The initiative was inaugurated by Dr. D.M. Vasudevan, Research Dean, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, emphasizing the importance of proactive health measures. Dr. K.N. Panicker, Emeritus Professor of Community Medicine at Amrita Hospital, introduced the project, outlining strategies for effective dengue prevention. The event also featured Dr. Aswathy S., Head of Community Medicine, Amrita Hospital, and Majeed, representative of the Thrikkakara Pulari Residents Association, among other dignitaries.
As part of the campaign, awareness sessions on the role of Aedes mosquitoes in dengue transmission, symptoms, and preventive measures were conducted by Dr. K.N. Panicker, Dr. Navami S., Dr. Vishnu B. Menon, and other experts.
