Dr. Maria John Kuriakose graduated from Trivandrum Dental College ( University of Kerala). She took her Ph.D in Neurophysiology from University of Bristol. She took her MDS in orthodontics from New York University (USA).
Her special interest are treating children with cleft and craniofacial deformities and orthodontics for orthognathic surgery. She has been treating these patients for the last thirteen years and this department has been able to offer comprehensive treatment for these patients. She has been doing NAM (nasoalveolar moulding) for cleft babies and distraction ostoegensis for cleft and craniofacial patients. A lot of orthopaedic appliances are also used in cleft patients when necessary.
She has been treating patients with orthognathic surgery for complicated facial asymmetries and cleft and craniofacial deformities. She has been invited as faculty for various national and international workshops.
