The Brain Bee is a prestigious competition designed for students with exceptional aptitude in biology and a keen interest in pursuing careers in healthcare. It's a journey that begins at the regional level and culminates in an international showdown. This year, India aims to reclaim the International Brain Bee Championship title, with the online event scheduled for the first week of October in Washington DC, USA.
Participants:
Thirteen regional finalists from across the nation will converge at Amrita Hospital, Kochi, to compete in the 15th National Championship. These finalists represent the brightest minds in neuroscience from 13 different cities.
Key Figures:
Dr. Vinyan K P, Professor and Head of Pediatric Neurology at Amrita Hospital, Kochi, serves as the chairman of this prestigious event. Dr. Haridas V.T, Consultant Neurologist at Elite Mission Hospital, Thrissur, takes on the role of Quiz Master, while visiting neurologists from various parts of the country will serve as judges.
Inauguration and Chief Guest:
Dr. Prem Nair, Group Director of Amrita Hospitals, will inaugurate the program on May 18th, 2024. The prize distribution ceremony on May 19th, 2024, at Holiday Inn Cochin, will feature CA. Venugopal C Govind, Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kochi, as the esteemed chief guest.
Contest Format:
The competition is structured to test the participants' knowledge and skills across various domains of neuroscience. From oral quizzes to patient-doctor simulations and neuro-anatomical identification, the contest promises both challenge and excitement.
Prizes:
The Indian National Brain Bee Champion of 2024 will receive a trophy, a laptop computer, and a certificate. Moreover, they will qualify to represent India at the 26th International Brain Bee finals in October.
