Dr. Guhan Venkatakrishnan , Assistant professor in GI surgery and solid organ transplantation, has expertise in surgery for gastro-intestinal cancers. His areas of interest are Liver transplantation, laparoscopic surgery , robotic surgery in Gastro-intestinal and HPB surgery. He completed his MS (General Surgery) training from the Institute of General Surgery, Madras Medical College, Chennai. He had under gone MCh (GI surgery) training from the Department of GI surgery Solid Organ Transplantation, Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi during which he was trained in minimally invasive surgery ( Laparoscopy and Robotic surgery). He had done Fellowship in HPB Surgery and Liver transplantation at The Royal Free hospital, London, UK. He had completed the FRCS( Eng.) in HPB and Upper GI surgery from England and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. At the Royal Free hospital, he was trained in deceased donor liver transplantation, multi-organ retrieval and machine perfusion (Organox).
