
In observance of World Stroke Day 2025, the Department of Stroke Medicine, Amrita Hospital, Kochi, organized a series of awareness initiatives including a Poster Competition and a Quiz Competition, under the guidance of Dr. Vivek Nambiar, Head, Department of Stroke Medicine, Division of Neurology. The program aimed to enhance awareness on stroke prevention, recognition, and timely management among students and medical professionals.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff, all contributing to the mission of promoting better understanding of stroke and its life-saving interventions. The competitions highlighted the importance of recognizing early warning signs and acting swiftly to reduce stroke-related disabilities and mortality.
The Quiz Competition, conducted by Dr. Jayarama Krishna, Stroke Medicine Fellow, engaged participants in thought-provoking clinical scenarios and evidence-based questions, testing their knowledge and application of stroke management principles.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vivek Nambiar emphasized the importance of awareness, early recognition, and timely management of stroke —reminding everyone that acting FAST can save lives. He encouraged healthcare professionals and students to stay informed about the latest advancements in stroke management and rehabilitation.
