Dr. Tinku Joseph is one of the “Best Interventional Pulmonologist in India” who loves his profession and calls it his passion in life. He started the first exclusive interventional pulmonary unit in Kerala state, which performs all basic & advanced bronchoscopic procedures. He was instrumental in starting lung cancer detection & post covid care clinics at Amrita Hospital. • Performed more than 1500 adult & paediatric Rigid Bronchoscopic procedures, 3000 flexible bronchoscopies and 1000 Linear EBUS
• Vastly trained in advanced interventional pulmonology related procedures: Rigid bronchoscopy, airway tumour debulking, placement of stents, valves, cryobiopsies for diagnosing ILD, Tracheal stenosis repair, cryoablation of tumours, bronchoscopic thermal vapour ablation, bronchial thermoplasty and EBUS (convex & radial), rigid & semi rigid thoracoscopy.
• Developed & performed the world's 1st Rigid Bronchoscopy guided Transbronchial lung cryobiopsy technique to diagnose diffuse lung parenchymal diseases in infants.
• First in India to perform bronchial stenosis repair in new born child using a biodegradable stent.
