Dr. Sajith Kesavan completed his MBBS in 2003 and MD (Paediatrics) and DCH from Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala in 2008. He completed the Fellowship of National Board in Paediatric Critical Care Medicine at Kanchi Kamakoti CHILDS TRUST Hospital, Chennai in 2011. After working for a brief period as Consultant Paediatric intensivist at Global Hospital, Chennai; he went to the world renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London for advanced training in paediatric critical care transport, paediatric cardiac intensive care and ECMO. He finished his 3 year critical care fellowship at GOSH, London in 2014 and moved to hospital for Sick Children (Sickkids), Toronto in 2015 for another fellowship in paediatric critical care at University of Toronto.

After a year as chief fellow in Sickkids Toronto, he returned to India in 2016 and worked as senior consultant and faculty for paediatric critical care fellowship program PICU of Kanchi Kamakoti CHILDS TRUST Hospital for 2 ½ years until June 2018.

He went back to Edmonton, Canada in 2018 to pursue a 2 year fellowship in paediatric res-piratory medicine at Stollery Children’s Hospital, Edmonton, and University of Alberta. During this fellowship he gained further skills in paediatric bronchoscopy, interpretation of paediatric pulmonary function tests and management of paediatric respiratory conditions like cystic fibrosis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, complex asthma, aspiration related lung disease, childhood interstitial lung diseases, sleep disordered breathing disorders and management of paediatric lung transplant. He also became a subspecialty affiliate of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine. He has returned to his native state in 2020 to start a new department of Paediatric Pulmonary and Critical Care at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi.
