Dr. Jai Thilak Kailathuvalapil is a distinguished professor in orthopaedics with more than 30 years of clinical expertise. Joining Amrita Hospital in 2000, Dr. Jai Thilak played a crucial role in the development of the Joint replacement and Arthroscopic surgery units, successfully executing over 10,000 major surgical procedures. Dr. Jai Thilak has been doing pioneering work in robotic surgery and made Amrita the first center in India to start robotic joint replacements in 2017. He has successfully completed more than 1000 MAKO robotic arm-assisted joint replacement surgeries. Dr. Jai Thilak has been successfully running the adult reconstruction fellowship training programme, which is ISAKOS-approved. He has more than 40 national and international publications to his credit.
