Amrita Hospital, Kochi, has launched a new Home Care Service aimed at providing essential medical care to bedridden and physically challenged patients who are unable to visit the hospital. The service was inaugurated by renowned cine artist Salim Kumar, he flagged off the Home Care vehicle, marking the official commencement of the service. Prominent figures in the medical community, including Dr. Prathapan Nair, Senior Medical Administrator, Dr. K. V. Beena, Additional Medical Superintendent, Dr. Girish Kumar K. P., Principal of Amrita School of Medicine, Dr. Priya Vijayakumar, Head of the Department of Geriatrics and Home Care, Brahmachari Dr. Jaggu, Dr. Shobha Nair, Dr. Aravind Perathur, and Chandralekha Nair, attended the function. 

The Home Care Service will provide comprehensive medical support, including pain and palliative care, sleep study tests, and physiotherapy. Each Home Care team will comprise a doctor, a nurse, and a health assistant, ensuring holistic and attentive care for patients. 

Initially, the service will be available to patients within a 10-kilometer radius of Amrita Hospital from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more details, patients and their families can contact the Home Care Service at 7994999843 or 0484-2854377.
