The Department of Hepatology at Amrita Hospital hosted an Awareness Camp and Fatty Liver Screening on the occasion of World Fatty Liver Day 2025. The event was spearheaded by Dr. Arun K. Valsan, Associate Professor, Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Amrita Hospital, Kochi in collaboration with the Indian National Association for the Study of the Liver (INASL), the Global Liver Institute, and the Global NASH Council.
The camp saw an enthusiastic response, with attendees receiving free FibroScan screening and engaging in educational sessions on fatty liver disease that covered the clinical features, necessary lifestyle changes, and the critical role of early intervention in preventing disease progression.

As fatty liver disease becomes increasingly prevalent among young adults and non-obese individuals, the camp served as a timely reminder of the need for awareness, vigilance, and preventive healthcare.
