Dr. P. Kishore is an accomplished plastic surgeon with a distinguished academic background. He obtained his MBBS, MS in General Surgery, and MCh in Plastic Surgery from Government Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Following the completion of his academic pursuits, he underwent further training in microvascular surgery and served as a consultant plastic surgeon at Specialists Hospital in Kochi. With over 30 years of experience in reconstructive microvascular surgery, cosmetic surgery, and general plastic surgery, Dr. Kishore is recognized for his expertise in limb salvage surgery, peripheral nerve injuries, traumatic brachial plexus injuries, and obstetric brachial plexus injuries.
He has also contributed significantly to the field through his work in reconstructing congenital deformities such as cleft lip, palate, and hand deformities. Additionally, Dr. Kishore has been involved in pioneering efforts as a member of the hand transplant team at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Kochi, where the first successful bilateral hand transplant in India was performed. An adept educator, he has shared his knowledge through publications and presentations. Won the best paper award for "Free temporalis fascial flap" in APSI, Kerala chapter in 1998
Kammath Memorial Prize for best poster presentation for "A rare case of arteriovenous fistula" at APSI national conference at Jaipur, November 2004.
Acknowledged, being a member of the team that performed India's first hand transplant on the 13th of January 2015 at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences.
