Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, hosted a landmark event to launch the "Consortium of Corporate Hospitals for a TB-Free Haryana," a collaborative initiative aimed at strengthening tuberculosis (TB) elimination efforts across the state. This initiative brings together major corporate hospitals under a unified vision to support the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP) and combat India’s TB burden, which accounts for over 26% of global cases.

The event saw active participation from healthcare leaders, public health experts, and government representatives, including Dr. Sanjay Mattoo from the Central TB Division, Government of India. Dr. Mattoo hailed the initiative, emphasizing the pivotal role of public-private partnerships in revolutionizing TB care through standardized diagnosis, treatment, and innovative prevention strategies.

Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Medical Director of Amrita Hospital, reiterated the hospital's commitment, stating, "This consortium is a game-changer in Haryana’s fight against TB, fostering collaboration and accountability within the private healthcare sector."

Supported by the Association of Healthcare Providers (AHPI) and the Corporate TB Pledge initiative under USAID’s iDEFEAT TB project, the consortium aims to standardize TB care, promote public health measures, and establish a private-sector-led policy framework. With STEPS (System for TB Elimination by Private Sector) as its foundation, the initiative prioritizes quality care and accountability in TB management.

Participants resolved to formalize the consortium, develop actionable strategies, and monitor progress, marking a significant step toward a TB-free Haryana.
