Dr. Shankey is a highly accomplished anaesthetist trained at various centres of repute in India. She has more than four years of experience after finishing her post-graduation (MD) in anaesthesia from the prestigious Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. During her MD, she developed a particular interest in transplant anaesthesia. After completing her MD, she did a one-year liver transplant anaesthesia (PDCC) fellowship from the prestigious Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi. During her fellowship, she provided anaesthesia to more than 20 living donor liver transplant recipients and worked in the transplant ICU to take care of liver transplant recipients and donors. After her fellowship, she completed her senior residency in the Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care in PGIMER, Chandigarh, where she gained experience in peri-operative management of kidney transplant recipients, major gastrointestinal surgeries, urology procedures, orthopaedic surgeries, and obstetric patients. During her senior residency, she developed a particular interest in labour analgesia. She believes all pregnant women should have the right to pain-free childbirth. After completing her senior residency, she joined Max Super Speciality Hospital, Vaishali as a consultant in the Department of Critical Care, where she was also involved in the living donor liver transplant program. She has a keen interest in academics and has authored various publications in journals of national and international repute.
