Overview

The department of general paediatrics provides comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care for sick infants and children up to the age of 18 years. The division attempts to provide a “medical home” concept in the care of children.

Diseases Treated

All sorts of illnesses ranging from neonatal illnesses, febrile illnesses, asthma and allergies, vomiting, loose stools, breathing difficulty, headache, pain abdomen, behavioral problems, feeding issues, bedwetting, urinary complaints, constipation, walking difficulties.

The department provides:

  • Outpatient and Inpatient care in areas of well-baby checkups, immunization services, development assessment, nutritional assessment, healthy lifestyle and proper physical activities. 
  • Provides comprehensive care for diagnosing and treating acute medical conditions, as well as coordinating care for complex and chronic issues. 
  • Consultations to other sub-specialists for comprehensive pediatric care in-house and through telemedicine for those outside this institution. The department also conducts free medical camps, and peripheral clinics on a regular basis. 
  • School health camps are conducted regularly to screen for common medical problems of school going children. 
  • All common conditions are treated in our department including Fever, vomiting, loose stools, breathing difficulty, headache, pain abdomen, allergies, skin rashes, behavioral problems, feeding issues, bedwetting, urinary complaints, constipation, walking difficulties. 
  •  Essential newborn care, immunization, Lactation counseling and advice on complementary feeding,  growth monitoring and developmental assessment will also be done.
