Dr. Sahil Gaba is a highly accomplished Orthopaedic surgeon who has trained at various centers of repute both in India and abroad, and has more than 8 years of experience post MS. He did his post-graduation (MS) in Orthopaedic surgery from the prestigious Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College and Hospital, Jaipur. Following this, he worked for 3 years in India’s top most medical college, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi as a Senior Resident. While working in AIIMS, he developed a passion for Hip and Knee replacement surgery and chose this as his career path. He excelled both clinically and academically, and has authored more than 35 publications in national and international journals, and also authored book chapters. He went on to do a fellowship in Hip surgery in Melbourne, Australia and later was also selected for a travelling fellowship in Pune by the Rajasthan Orthopaedic Surgeon’s Association. In 2018, he moved to Aberdeen, UK for training and completed three fellowships, working in NHS Grampian at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Woodend Hospital, one of the few high volume ring-fenced hospitals for elective Orthopaedic Surgery in the UK. In 2021, he was selected for the United Kingdom’s first dedicated Robotic Hip and Knee Fellowship programme, which was at the Woodend Hospital, Aberdeen. Apart from being the first Robotic Hip and Knee Fellow of Woodend Hospital, he is also the first Orthopaedic surgeon in India to have completed a year long dedicated Robotics fellowship in the UK, gaining valuable hands on training. He did his Robotics certification course in Cambridge, UK. During his tenure in Aberdeen, he gained unparalleled experience in managing hip and knee disorders and had ample opportunity to perform surgeries independently.While in Aberdeen, he also performed complex and revision Hip and Knee surgeries. Along with this, he had great exposure to the Direct anterior approach (DAA) to the hip (both manual and robotic) for hip replacement. He is also well versed with the technique of Partial Knee replacement (both manual and robotic), where only one compartment of knee is replaced for localized osteoarthritis. After spending nearly 4 years in Aberdeen, UK he came back to India in July 2022, to join Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, Delhi NCR as a Consultant and Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics.
