Overview
Dr. Neena Khanna joins Amrita Hospital after an almost 40 year stint at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi from where she retired as Dean (Academics) & Professor & Head, Dept of Dermatology & Venereology. At AIIMS she was involved in clinical & research, work & teaching & administration. Her clinical work includes special focus on aesthetic dermatology, pediatric dermatology, acne, psoriasis, vitiligo & other pigmentary disorders, autoimmune blistering diseases, PCOS, leprosy & STIs.
Apart from several awards & orations, she has been bestowed with the IADVL Life Time Achievement Award by the Indian Association of Dermatologists Venereologists & Leprologists, which is 2nd largest association of dermatologists in the world. She is the author of the popular undergraduate text book of dermatology ‘Illustrated Synopsis of Dermatology & STDs, which is used as a standard text book in MBBS curriculum. She has authored 170 publications in indexed journals & 11 books, & has delivered 200 lectures at national & international conferences
Her Publications includes:
- Books: 11, including Illustrated Synopsis of Dermatology & Sexually Transmitted Diseases (Elsevier) now in 6th edition, which is used as standard text book by undergrad-uates in India & several countries in Asia. Book sells 5,000–7,000 copies annually.
- Chapters in books: 31 including chapters in IAP Textbook of Medicine, IADVL Textbook of Dermatology & Ghai’s Essentials of Pediatrics. Was on editorial board of IADVL Text-book of Dermatology.
- Journals: More than 170 articles in journals of repute, with high impact factor, most as 1st or corresponding author.
- Presentations: More than 160, including orations, invited lectures, presentations, panel discussions (as moderator & panelist) at international, national & state level confer-ences & lecture series as a visiting international faculty
